Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Abdel Aziz Tantawy, President of New Valley University, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud, Supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector; Professor Dr. Ahmed Thabet, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Professor Dr. Dalia Ahmed Issa, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Professor Dr. Rasha Mahmoud El-Shazly, Director of the Women's Empowerment Unit at the University's Center for Public Service for the Environment and Sustainability.
The Faculty of Science at New Valley University held an expanded dialogue meeting to introduce the "Dawi" presidential initiative to support Egyptian girls. Under the patronage of Her Excellency Mrs. Intisar El-Sisi, wife of the President of the Republic, the meeting brought together a distinguished group of female leaders from within the university and members of the National Council for Women. The meeting was also attended by faculty members, support staff, and students from various faculties at the university.
The meeting began with a speech delivered by Professor Dr. Dalia Ahmed Issa, in which she emphasized the important role played by the Faculty of Science in particular and New Valley University in general in supporting various presidential initiatives and the importance of the presidential initiative "Dawi" in developing the skills of Egyptian girls. For her part, Professor Dr. Rasha El-Shazly highlighted the importance of digital learning, sponsored by the "Dawy" initiative via its online application, which develops multiple skills in Egyptian girls, such as critical thinking, empathy, problem-solving, creating electronic content, and online research, to boost creativity and productivity among Egyptian girls. Professor Dr. Rania Awida then led a storytelling session with all attendees. She recounted part of her journey from childhood to becoming Vice Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. She highlighted the impact of family, upbringing, and role models in creating effective capacity in women to drive development. The storytelling expanded with Dr. Nahi Younis sharing her experience and struggles to support communication with attendees, foster self-confidence, and transfer expertise. The session then expanded with practical training provided by Dr. Rasha Makram Allah to encourage girls to share their experiences of failure and success, enhancing confidence, self-expression, and overcoming fear of confronting society.
